Velve was born from an unexpected spark—a viral chocolate bar post that ignited founder Dianna Mkryan's obsession with the craft. What began as a passion project blossomed into a full artisan chocolate house, built on dedication, curiosity, and an uncompromising pursuit of excellence.
Determined to grow beyond the basics, Dianna hired an-in house chocolatier to teach her how to work with chocolate for six hours straight from her tiny 150sq foot den. Since that moment, a little bit over a year ago, Dianna has grown out of 4 different kitchens. She also traveled to Sweden to train with two master chocolatiers, immersing herself in traditional techniques, modern innovation, and the fine details that transform chocolate into art. Her hands—her favorite tools—carry those lessons into every batch she crafts today.

Foundation Story
At Velve, chocolate is more than confectionery—it is craft, devotion, and heart. Every bar, bon bon, and frozen Ruby is a reflection of our belief that indulgence should be honest, pure, and meaningful.
One of Velve’s most beloved chocolate companies used at the brand is premium Swiss couverture chocolate from Felchlin, a company honored with the Swiss Ethics Award 2025 for sustainable and responsible practices.
Our philosophy
Every filling we make—from our Kenaf Said pistachio cream to all our ganaches—is created in-house, using the highest quality ingredients and never preservatives, artificial flavors, artificial colors, or palm oil.
Our philosophy is simple:
Real ingredients. Real craft. Real indulgence.
This commitment extends across every product, including our frozen Rubies line—clean, preservative-free, and designed to bring elevated snacking to freezer aisles.
Velve’s mission extends far beyond chocolate. Dianna is deeply committed to humanitarian aid work, specifically in her home town of Armenia, working closely with two priests from the towns of Aparan and Oshakan to support:
- Less fortunate families
- Children battling illness
- Wounded soldiers
- Displaced and struggling communities
Our mission
To bring Dianna’s mission to life on a larger scale in order to reach many more communities, she started The Velve Foundation - a foundation committed to:
- Supporting programs that ensure cocoa farmers are paid fairly, work safely, and are not subjected to child labor.
- Supporting environmental initiatives that help farming communities thrive without harming ecosystems.
- Providing preservative-free, nutrient-conscious treats to children and families in need.
- Supporting programs that bring comfort, joy, and clean treats to kids in hospitals or long-term care.
- Providing mentorship and support to women entrepreneurs entering artisanal food spaces.
This work is not an afterthought—it is a core part of Velve’s identity and the heart behind why we create.
-
We also practice a strict zero-waste compassion policy:
When chocolate nears its expiration, we never discard it.
Instead, we share it with those who deserve sweetness the most—
children in hospitals, families who cannot afford luxury treats, and individuals who simply need a moment of joy in difficult times. Chocolate, to us, is a gift. And gifts are meant to be shared. -
Velve is for the ones who savor slowly.
Who appreciate depth, care, and story.
Who believe that craftsmanship matters—and that ingredients tell the truth.
Whether you’re enjoying a stuffed chocolate bar, a hand-filled bon bon, or a frozen Ruby, you’re part of a community that values quality, heart, generosity, and artistry.
